- ZABALGARBI:
Visit to the Bizkaia waste-to-energy plant, located at the Artigas Ecopark in Bilbao. The activity will begin with a presentation on how the plant operates, its role in Bizkaia’s waste management model, and its contribution to the circular economy, energy efficiency, and decarbonization. After receiving the necessary PPE, participants will take a tour of the main stages of the industrial process: reception of non-recyclable waste, combustion in the furnace-boiler, flue gas treatment, and electricity generation. The visit will provide a first-hand look at a facility that is a benchmark for technological innovation.Additional and safety information: Flat, closed-toe shoes and long-sleeved clothing are required.

The visit to Biscay Eco Aggregates will provide a first-hand look at an innovative circular economy project that transforms industrial waste into eco-aggregates for the construction sector. The tour will cover the reception and storage of raw materials, an explanation of the plant’s main equipment and processes, and the stages of eco-aggregate production. Attendees will learn about the technological solutions used, the applications of the resulting products, and their contribution to decarbonization and waste recovery. The visit will conclude with a screening of a corporate video about the project and its results.Additional and safety information: Long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes are required.
